Some last-minute planning

Straight on 'til Morning

As the sun sets, our first destination nears. Less than twelve hours now until the science crew steps off the Chouest and into to the sub to plunge to the depths of the Gulf. Excitement and a bit of nervousness loom in the air as we hope all will go smoothly. The day was a bit slow since all systems are set to go. All testing is complete.

Another safety meeting was given for the scientists to ensure that all deck operations are conducted carefully. The tow rope makes the back deck a hazardous place to be. Safety is addressed seriously and thoroughly aboard the Chouest.

Reviewing safety procedures - Again.
