Turning the corner

The waters around the ship were clearest blue today as Carolyn and NR-1 headed into the Straits of Florida.

The Gulf stream is still against us and we're only able to make about 7.5 knots (about 8 mph). NR-1 was on the surface briefly to send over a spare UQC--underwater telephone to replace one that malfunctioned on Carolyn.

The two ships stay in regular contact and when Carolyn failed to answer after the phone went out, NR-1 came up to check on her.

Once the spare was installed, NR-1 dove down again, but not before sending over some of her crew in exchange for others who had been riding the Carolyn. This way everyone gets a chance to participate in the training.
