Your on-line headquarters for NR-1 submarine's tour of coral reefs in the Gulf of Mexico. Scientists from Texas A&M University will be aboard the Navy's only nuclear-powered research submarine, and they're planning to post daily reports of their findings on the World Wide Web. Teachers and students can register to participate -- it's FREE! -- and they'll receive e-mail updates during the cruise, the chance to name a reef, and notification of similar events in the future. Also, Reefs of the Gulf includes educational sections called "Submarine Science" that will teach you about light in water and sea turtles.
